Montessori Education
"Our aim is not merely to make the child understand, and still less to force him to memorize, but so to touch his imagination as to enthuse him to his inmost core".
Maria Montessori

For every class we have one trained teacher, one assistant teacher and two trained Aayas.

Parent participation - Montessori seeks a close relationship between the home and the school. Every once a month we have a monthly report of the child's height, weight, creativity, talent etc. and also the parents have the opportunity with their child's teacher during this time. At other times too, parents are welcome to visit the school and observe the classroom and other activities.

Your advice help and participation on field trips, school programs and the upliftment of the school will be highly appreciated.

Since we are also a child care centre children are admitted at any time of the year depending on his/her age.

Transport facilities are available and will be charged for 12 months. Parent are requested to see that their children are also punctual at their bus stop.

Library - Children are allowed to use Montessori equipments, books and to watch cartoons and children movies, etc. free of cost.

Once in a while we take the children on a field trip on school expenses.

Children should not wear valuable articles while coming to the centre. The loss of which will not be a responsibility of the centre.

What is Montessori?

Montessori is a philosophy with the fundamental tenet that a child learns best within a social learns best within a social environment which supports each individuals unique development. Dr. Maria Montessori, the creator of what is called "The Montessori Method of Education", based this new education on her scientific observations of young children's behavior - Montessori became involved with education as a doctor treating children labeled as retarted. Then in 1907 she was invited to open a child care center for the children, she called it "A children's House", and based the program on her observations.

Montessori's dynamic theories:

Children are to be respected as different from adults and as individuals.
Children create themselves through purposeful activity.
The most important years for learning are from birth to age six.
Children posses’ unusual sensitivity and mental powers for observing and learning from their environment, which includes people as well as materials.

Each Montessori class from toddlers through high school, operates on the principle of freedom within limits. Every program has its set of ground rules which differs from age to age, but is always based on core Montessori beliefs - respect for each other and for the environment.

How is creativity encouraged?

Creativity flourishes in an atmosphere of acceptance and trust. Montessorians recognize that each child, from toddlers to teenagers learn and express themselves in a very individual way.

Music, art, story-telling, movement and drama are part of every Montessori program. But there are other things particular to the Montessori environment which encourages creative development. Many materials which stimulate interest and involvement, and emphasis on the sensory aspect of experience, and the opportunity for both verbal and non-verbal modes of learning.

What happens when a child leaves Montessori?

Montessori children are unusually adaptable. They have learned to work independently and in groups since they have been encouraged to make decisions from an early age, these children are problem solvers who can make choices and manage their time well. They have also been encouraged to exchange ideas and to discuss their work freely with others. Montessori programs, based on self-directed, non-competitive activities, help children develop good self-imagers and the confidence to face challenges and change with optimism.
